Miyamoto: How Wii Got Started

It's just under 3 days until the Wii is released to the public. (Unrelated: Less than 12 hours for you Sony folk waiting to snag your PS3- and sell it on eBay for $10k.) While the final moments inch closer and anticipation mounts, BusinessWeek.com presents us with this article to satiate our inquisitive minds.

Not only does BW get to sit down with Shigeru Miyamoto himself, they dive into some pointedly deep questions- and submerge with some interesting answers.

No doubt there's been moments you thought to yourself "Why is the Wii incompatible with HDTVs?", "Why $250?", and maybe even "Who is Ken'ichiro Ashida, and why is he in the same interview as- nay, within 20 feet of- game deity Miyamoto?"

Well, those answers (and more) are laid out in the interview linked above. It's a great read, and really explores what Nintendo's been doing up till today with the Wii. It's surprisingly eye-opening and insider-ish for a business publication.

(What's that? The DS paved the way for the Wii? The Wii wouldn't even exist without the DS' success?! Iiiinteresting.)
